My weight training experience started at the age thirteen when I realized I needed to be stronger
if I was going to achieve my goals as an athlete.  As a result, I started all four years of varsity
football in high school. I went on to play in college at Kean University where my team won
the  NJAC/ECAC Southwest Championship in 1994.

During my college career I also began life guarding at the beach earning an open
ocean water certification. This job provided me with the opportunity to make a transition
from the heavy weight training of football to more endurance training. Long runs,
swims, rows and other competitions were the new goals to keep fit. Learning
new eating habits was the key for this transition. Mass amounts of food required
for keeping weight on in football was not conducive to the leaner and clean eating
needed for racing. Having a nutrition major in college helped that
transition tremendously.

My mom died at the early age of fifty-three which influenced my decision
to help people become more physically fit by becoming a personal trainer.
I have held various certifications over the years including
NCSF (National Council of Strength and Fitness) and
NASM (National Association of Sports Medicine). The functional
stability style of training has helped me personally as well as helped
the thousands of clients I have trained over my 15 year career.
Working together we have increased balance, flexibility,
strength and endurance.

After having trained in the gym for a few years I started managing
personal training departments. First I became a General Manager,
then Senior General Manager to eventually a District Manager.
I have had as many as twenty-two trainers under me simultaneously
in which I guided, taught and created great teams of fitness experts.

When my daughter was born I became tired of the corporate training demands. I wanted to get back to training
on a more personal level. I chose to stay home with her for her first three years and started training from my home
with a select group of clients.

For the last five years I have been training on my own. I have created a great network of related professionals that I refer out to.
I continue to do competitions, recently completing a half iron man. I look forward to keeping a regular competition schedule for myself balanced with training others to be the best they can be, and look forward to the opportunity to do the same for you!
